Outdoor Kitchen & Built-In Gas Grill Installation

Appliance Doctor's gas team helps with built-in gas grills and the home gas piping that outdoor cooking projects depend on, from the first shutoff to the last burner.

Built-in grills & outdoor kitchens

Plan the gas before you build the island.

Outdoor kitchens work best when the gas supply is planned alongside the layout. We work with built-in gas grills and the gas piping needed to support approved outdoor equipment.

We also service several outdoor grill brands. See brands we service for the list.

Gas safety

Smell gas? Leave immediately.

If you smell the rotten-egg odor of natural gas, or otherwise suspect a gas leak, leave the area immediately and get to a safe location.

Do not try to find or stop the leak. Do not use matches, lighters, electrical switches, phones, or anything else that could create a spark while you are near the suspected leak.

Once you are safely away from the area, call 911 or your local gas utility. Do not return until emergency personnel or the gas utility says it is safe.

Do not use our website or service-request form to report an active or suspected gas leak.

What we review

What we check before installation

Confirm the grill

Share the make, model, and fuel rating. A natural gas grill and a propane grill are not automatically interchangeable.

Review total gas demand

The system must be checked for the combined demand of every connected appliance, not just whether a pipe is nearby. See gas piping installation.

Plan access and clearances

The location, shutoff access, ventilation, and the grill maker's instructions all matter, especially in a built-in enclosure.

How it works

From first call to finished project

Every property is different, so scope, schedule and any permit or inspection needs are confirmed for your specific job.

1. Tell us about the project

Send the grill and any other gas appliances planned for the outdoor kitchen.

2. We review the layout and gas demand

We look at the location, the fuel source, and the route for gas piping.

3. Confirm scope and schedule

We explain what the project involves and confirm timing, ideally before the island is built.

4. Installation by our gas team

Licensed gas work is carried out under Appliance Doctor's Category V LP Gas Installer license.

Other gas appliances planned
Your property address

Questions

Outdoor Kitchen Gas Installation questions

Do you install built-in gas grills?

Our gas team works with built-in gas grills and the home gas piping needed to support them. Send the grill model and project details and we will confirm the scope.

Can I put a natural gas grill on propane?

Not automatically. Grills are approved for a specific fuel, and conversion depends on the maker's instructions and the model. Check before you buy or convert.

Should I call before the outdoor kitchen is built?

Yes, if you can. Gas line size, shutoff access, and clearances are much easier to plan before the island is finished.

Do you service outdoor grills that will not light?

Salt air and moisture can corrode burners and ignition parts over time. If a grill shows corrosion or ignition trouble, stop repeated ignition attempts and contact us with the brand and model so we can confirm what we can service.

Planning an outdoor kitchen?

Tell us what you are planning and where it will go. We review gas project requests during normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM) and reply within one business day.
