Fireplace and venting
The fireplace or insert must suit the planned opening and an approved venting arrangement. The maker's instructions set the requirements.
Appliance Doctor installs gas fireplaces and natural-gas or LP firelogs for homes in Northwest Florida. We review the appliance, fuel source, venting, gas supply, and site before the work begins.

Our dedicated gas team sells and installs gas fireplaces and firelogs for home applications, and can also service fireplace systems. We handle the gas side of the job, including the supply that serves the appliance.
Each project starts with the specific fireplace or firelog, the fuel available at your property, and the maker's installation instructions.
If you smell the rotten-egg odor of natural gas, or otherwise suspect a gas leak, leave the area immediately and get to a safe location.
Do not try to find or stop the leak. Do not use matches, lighters, electrical switches, phones, or anything else that could create a spark while you are near the suspected leak.
Once you are safely away from the area, call 911 or your local gas utility. Do not return until emergency personnel or the gas utility says it is safe.
Do not use our website or service-request form to report an active or suspected gas leak.

A gas appliance must be approved for the fuel it will burn. Natural gas and propane appliances are not interchangeable. See our natural gas vs. propane guide.
We look at the existing gas piping, the distance to the appliance, and the demand of everything on the line. Where new piping is needed, see gas piping installation.
Permit and inspection needs depend on the job and local rules. We confirm them as part of the project scope.
Every property is different, so scope, schedule and any permit or inspection needs are confirmed for your specific job.
