How to Find Your Appliance Model & Serial Number

The model and serial number help us find the appliance, find the right parts, and arrive prepared.

Label locations

Where to look

Dishwashers

Open the door and check the inner door edge or frame, along a side or near the opening.

Ranges, ovens & cooktops

Check the frame behind the oven door, the drawer area, or the spot listed in the owner's manual. Do not lift or dismantle a built-in just to find it.

Washers & dryers

Check the inside face of the door or door opening, or the location in the manual.

Refrigerators, freezers & specialty

Check the interior side wall, door frame, or the maker's designated spot. Built-in ice machines may have their own rating plate.

What to send us

Take a clear photo of the whole rating label so the model, serial number, and any product or revision codes are readable. A photo of the whole appliance helps too. Also tell us what it is doing or not doing, when the problem began, any error code, flashing light, or sound, and whether it was recently moved, installed, or serviced.

You do not need to know which part failed. These details help us arrive prepared and reduce the chance of an extra visit.
